WP2Hugo
This is the best migrator for migrating WordPress export to Hugo. It handles several weird edge cases that I encountered while trying to migrate my personal website to Hugo-based site.
While this primarily targets Hugo-based code generation, one can use it to convert WordPress blogs to Markdown-based files that can be used with other systems for example Mkdocs or Jekyll.

Matt Mullenweg deactivates WordPress contributor accounts over alleged fork plans
Matt Mullenweg, CEO of Automattic, deactivated the accounts of several WordPress.org community members, including Joost de Valk and Karim Marucchi, amid ongoing tensions over WordPress governance. This followed public criticism of WP Engine and discussions on creating federated repositories, though de Valk and Marucchi denied plans to fork WordPress. Mullenweg’s actions were seen as targeting those questioning WordPress’s leadership, but the code remains accessible for forking via GitHub.
