Starting May 1, 2026, Pushover’s API sending limitations and capacity upgrades will become per-account rather than per-application.
I can’t really fault Pushover for this change. It’s been a solid service for years, and the one-time $10 fee for lifetime access on Android and desktop has always felt more than fair.
I’m unlikely to hit the 10,000-message per month limit across my apps anytime soon, but this does make me consider alternatives like ntfy or even Telegram for certain use cases.
