TAMUNING, Guam - International Little League Association of Manila got a huge lift from the returning Sarina Samson in hacking out a come-from-behind 9-6 triumph over Guam Thursday to move on the cusp of clinching a place in the Senior League World Series.

Bucking flu-like symptoms that kept her out of the first game, Samson banged two base hits, scored thrice and made a sensational catch on the run at left field as she helped give the Illam softbelles, who also drew two RBIs from Isabel Gomez, open up a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five series against Guam in the Asia-Pacific Softball Championships.
